Adwords External is Insufficient

This morning I was pulling up the google external tool to find that Google has insufficient data to display search volumn information.

I’ve checked the blogosphere and haven’t yet seen anyone else picking up on it, and it isn’t in the Google Blog yet-

UPDATE: The external tool is once again pulling data -

UPDATE: Here is Google’s customer support response to the issue: Received 8/12/2008

Thank you for your email. I’m sorry to hear that you were having difficulty with the Keyword Tool. I checked into this and found that our technical team has identified a technical issue affecting a limited number of users. However, I am happy to report that the issue you reported has now been resolved.

You can use this traffic estimator to pull much of the same information-

Wednesday 8/6 at 11am CST we are now getting “Insufficient Data” for “Approx Avg Search Volume “. This is using the keyword tool in our AdWords account. End of July we were pulling actual search volume. Tested “credit cards” which surely has enough data and it didn’t return data. Don’t know if it was shut down.

Using the keyword tool in our AdWords account gave us the same problem. We pulled data at the end of July of actual search numbers from this tool. Now it is not working. Tested “credit cards” and returned “insufficient data”. Surely there is enough data. Maybe they realized that this was providing too much data. :-( But I still copied data from our previous analysis.

Is it working for you now?
