Hi Greg,

I do think it is a good idea and would provide a decent medium to provide both of best worlds.

I’d say there is probably a market for it but most business owners lack the ability to find qualified people to build that kind of set up. Hell even I’ve struggled finding someone that can navigate wordpress, build or modify plugins, impliment new designs and the works.

If you happen to head back this way I’d be curious if you have any feedback on where to find freelancers that might be especially skilled in this?

By the way, I happened to get a sneak peak at your PT back end… I’ve never imagined that kind of customization and flexibility; you’ve outdone yourself sir.

why not use platforms like WordPress for websites instead of static based HTML?

We use it for all our projects, not just PT. The speed that we can develop with WP is just so much faster than anything else. And it gives us to ability to create “static” sites that convince google they are blogs.

While outpacing static sites is great in regards to rankings; I doubt that the majority of blogs cary a large reader base so the only advantage is the quicker ranking capability.

However quicker ranking capability might not be such a hot idea if blogs are prone to lose rankings as fast as they gain them. Every time a blogger writes a new post they push the old one down and that then gives new weight to new potential keywords.

I agree with Dave Naylor when he said, “Blogs are not the silver bullet”.

Your Welcome Dave, it was a great panel! I think that goes to underline the responsiveness of a blog, and bloggers. The question then becomes is it Bloggers who are outranking static site owners instead of blogs outranking static sites?
